The Anglican Parish of Jimboomba welcomes your enquiry regarding a Christian Marriage Service.
We offer the choice of either:
St. John’s, Mundoolun Road, Mundoolun;
St. James, 47 East Street, Jimboomba; or
An Anglican marriage service elsewhere.
In order for us to officiate at your wedding, at least one of you needs to be baptized in any Christian church. In marriages where one or both parties have been previously married and divorced, it is necessary to apply for permission from our Archbishop to conduct the wedding at least three months before the planned day. This is not usually a problem, nor does it take very long, but we cannot guarantee we can officiate at the wedding until we have the Archbishop’s approval.
We are committed to doing all we can to help your marriage be a lasting success, so it is necessary for all couples to complete the “Prepare” Marriage Preparation program (comprising of 2 sessions). We are trained in this program and will lead you through it.
A meeting will also be held with you to:
† plan the service
† sight relevant documents (full Birth Certificates, Divorce documents, Death Certificates etc)
† complete and sign legal documents
The day before your wedding we will hold a rehearsal and sign any final legal documents.
FEES
For a marriage service in one of our churches, the fee is $950. This includes an organist, the church, the “Prepare” program and all relevant paperwork.
